As our first restauration object, STAR 4614, is more or less complete and ready to sail, we can turn our attention to the next challenge. A new crew of trainees starts to fit the teak deck on STAR 5114. This star has an interesting and unusual history. To learn more about it, check the 5114 section of this site.

“Spirit of the Stars”

The “Hamburg Fleet” and the Lübeck Fleet” celebrated their 75th and 25th anniversary, as well as 75 years of stars in Germany. More Details about the great event with more than 300 participants at http://www.hamburger-flotte.de/IDM2006/IDM2006/Home.html

The event closed with a great banquet and Gala-Dinner at the famous Hotel ATLANTIC close to the Alster. It was a great honour and pleasure for the Starclassics to be able to present the refitted 4614 in the lobby of the banquet hall for the first time to the star public.

“Small World”

At the banquet by fortune the three last owners of the star 5062 met and discussed the optimum refit strategy of the old wooden A&R star, which will take place this winter (right to left - in the order of ownership: Frank Ochsendorf, Tilmann Conrad, Dr. Walter Pelka)

Perfect sunshine for a great moment. Probably for the first time after more than 75 years a gaff mast and a sliding gunter have been set on a full scale star boat.
